When Robin and Barney tried to stop Ted from getting back together with Zoey.

Robin : "Look, Ted, the future is scary. But you can' just run back to the past because it's familiar. Yes, it's tempting." Barney : "But... it's a mistake." Ted : "You're right."

When Ted was gonna tear down The Arcadian.

Ted : "Hey, new is always better, right?" Barney : "Always."

And remember at the previous episode, when it's finally decided that The Arcadian will be torn down.

Ted to Zoey : "Sometimes... things have to fall apart to make way for better things."

Indeed, the future is scary. And the past, no matter how annoying it was, will always be something familiar yet remain being our comfort zone. And, who does not want better things ahead? I bet nobody does. But would they mind letting things fall apart to make the way? 


The future, with better things in it, is not something that will come out from nowhere.
